“My father had a grocery store, he was getting busy, and he wanted me to quit school. He said, “What do you need to go to school for? We have a business and it will eventually be yours.” So he talked me out of going to school to become a pharmacist and I ended up working for him. I remember on Saturdays it would be payday, and he’d give me ten dollars, but then on Monday morning, he’d be making out the bank deposit and he would say to me, “Son, have you got any money left from your ten dollars?” I would say, “Yes, it’s in my pocket.” He’d say, “Here, give it to me,” and I’d give it back to him. My father gave me the business, and eventually I sold it.” Eli
